This project is situated in a highly sought-after short-term rental complex in Cayman, where balancing an attractive island vacation aesthetic with practicality and comfort was a top priority.
The design team introduced coastal elements in a sophisticated way through subtle details to create a light and bright living room and dining room that can comfortably accommodate many people. Leaning more heavily on being a furniture project, features like the mother-of-pearl console with a stunning mirror that reflects the shell artwork and Sunbrella fabric on the sofa add to the space's rentability and beauty.
The feature millwork designed by Design Studio, with the beautiful ocean blue color behind it, breaks up the space and keeps with the calming island theme. Beautiful accent lighting is used throughout to soften the space, with minimalist details in the bathroom, such as the stool by the tub and artwork, creating a calming coastal palette.
The office nook has fun details in the furniture, while bedding is emphasized with color and texture elements. Mother-of-pearl lamps on the nightstands add to the luxurious feel of the space, with shadow boxes elegantly showcasing art.
Custom-designed bunk beds maximize space and flexibility for rentals, with the top bunk rail folding down for easy bed-making.
Shiplap on the bottom half of the walls of the guest bedroom adds a nautical coastal vibe, and the lounge’s built-in space was custom-designed to create a relaxing hang-out room.
Overall, this project strikes the perfect balance between aesthetic appeal, practicality, and comfort, making it an attractive rental option for anyone looking for an island vacation experience.
